Hand sanitizers against bacteria

Hydroalcoholic gel or alcohol-based hand sanitising gel has been used for several years in the health sector. Its usefulness is to maintain a level of hygiene in cases where hand washing is not possible, either for reasons of frequency (number of washes per day) or for reasons of practicality (absence of water point).

It is mainly composed of alcohol, which gives it its disinfecting properties. The purpose of buying hydroalcoholic gel is therefore to ensure hand disinfection in addition to hand washing, but under no circumstances should it be replaced. Hand washing protocols should therefore be followed.

Sanitising gel is one of the most widely used products for preventive hygiene, eliminating up to 90 % of pathogenic micro-organisms. It is highly effective against a wide range of bacteria (Gram-positive and Gram-negative), Mycobacterium tuberculosis, fungi and viruses. It contains panthenol, which cares for, protects and moisturises the skin. It also helps to regenerate tissue and maintain an adequate level of moisture in the lower layers of the skin.

Hands are parts of the body that are vulnerable to infection from external agents, so daily hygiene is essential. Normally soap and water will suffice for optimal protection, but what if we tell you that with this antiseptic gel you won't need to rinse it off after application?

Recommended use of the gel

On many occasions, the urgency to continue with other tasks makes us make the mistake of applying the hand gel and immediately rinsing them with water. Although this gel does not require rinsing, it is important not to rush and to be aware of the correct procedure in order to effectively disinfect your hands.

Risks of poor hand washing

Hands are the main vector of germ transmission. Scientists estimate that 80% of infections are transmitted by hands. This therefore includes hand-to-hand contact, but also contact with common objects: telephone, lift buttons, door handles, keyboards, ramps, etc.

70% of people do not wash their hands or only use water after visiting the toilet at their workplace. Cross-contamination among employees can lead to increased absenteeism.

Good hygiene standards can save money as well as prevent germs . 21 independent international studies show that adherence to good hygiene standards contributes to a reduction in illness, absenteeism and related costs of around 40%. It costs little to encourage those who represent your biggest investment, employees to have good hygiene.

Choosing the ideal hand sanitising gel will depend on what you are doing and how effective you want it to be. Whether it is to fight bacteria, viruses and germs, its bactericidal, virucidal and fungicidal function will keep your hands and those of your employees and customers protected.
